Since its launch in 2007, Italia Independent has been bringing innovations to the market, incorporating unique materials and designs. Their debut collection using carbon fiber was the first eyewear to be made entirely of this material. ¨The sunglasses were truly representative of what ¨Made in Italy¨ stands for, and we brought them to the market to be provocative,¨ comments Andrea Tessitore, co-founder and CEO of the company. The brand has continuously worked on new technologies since, and the latest release includes Alcantara, an Italian-made material traditionally used in car interiors.

Italia Independent is also known for its collaborations with brands such as Karl Lagerfeld, Adidas, Hublot, and Ducati, to name a few. ¨Collaboration means having an open mind and it opens the door for improvement. The best way of doing business is to exchange ideas,¨ says Tessitore.

When asked about his favorite pair, he comments that he opts for the must-haves of the season, and among the latest collection, it’s the re-launched Combo-sun, a mix of acetate and metal. The brand’s best-selling frame is the iconic model, a classical shape with a particular treatment called the Velvet Effect. As the brand enjoys success in Europe, it aims to widen distribution going forward, with plans to enter the German market soon.
