EYEWEAR RETAIL REPORT

ZIO, SEOUL

Bei der Gründung 1996 in Seoul wählte Zio Lee den Namen „ZIO”, weil er für „zero fault”, „Innovation” und „Originalität” steht. Der Standort in Daechie-dong, einer wohlhabenden und von Akademikern geprägten Nachbarschaft, gilt auch als Wohngebiet von Gangnam-ku. Das Geschäft wirkt mit seinem minimalistischen Design, das von weißen Schränken umrahmt wird wie ein Museum. Ein im Zentrum stehender Tisch mit großem Naturstein akzentuiert den Raum. „Wir glauben, dass das Unsichtbare wichtiger ist als die sichtbaren Dinge.” Diese Leitlinie für das Shop-Design und das Konzept unterscheidet Zio von typischen Optikern, denn die Brillen sind allesamt in den Schränken „versteckt”.

Beratung ist bei Zio das A und O, um die richtige Brille für die Kunden zu finden. Bei einem gemeinsamen Getränk wird die Persönlichkeit genauso wie die Wünsche und Bedürfnisse der Kunden untersucht. „Es gibt eine große Vielfalt an Kunden, von künstlerischen Menschen, die einen neuen Look suchen, zu Politikern, die ihr Image verändern wollen.”, kommentiert Zio. „Wir präsentieren nicht alle Brillen aufeinmal. Wir zeigen sie einzeln, damit die Kunden die Seele jeder Brille erspüren können.”

Beliebte Marken bei Zio sind Mykita, Anne et Valentin, Jacques Marie Mage und Kaneko Optical. Ein weiterer Favorit ist Factory 900, eine japanische Marke, die auffällige Azetat-Brillen macht, die sowohl angenehm zu tragen als auch futuristisch sind. „Wir nehmen Marken in unser Sortiment auf, die eine starke Identität und einzigartige Seelen statt bloß einen guten Ruf haben. Deswegen fühlen sich unsere Kunden uns tief verbunden.”
